Assessment at Shenandoah University is used to inform decision making, and improve student learning, thereby deepening our commitment to achieving educational excellence. Assessment is a continuous process that incorporates the following: Compiling programatic assessment data for all academic programs, including the QEP and General Education Programs, as well as non-academic programs. Assessment includes identifying learning needs, creating and measuring clear and concise student learning outcomes, identifying appropriate opportunities for students to achieve outcomes, supporting the academic program review process, gathering qualitative and quantitative data through the use of surveys and focus groups, identifying tools and metrics to gather necessary data, and supporting accreditation and strategic planning efforts.
